Agree on who takes each arrangement
A display at the service is not automatically available for any guest to remove. The family may want flowers to remain for another gathering, travel to a different venue, or go to a particular person. Ask the person coordinating the service before moving anything, and follow the venue’s collection time.
Keep each enclosure card with the correct flowers. If several relatives are helping, make a short private list of which arrangement is going where. This can also help the family identify senders later. Ask before photographing cards, and do not post private messages or addresses online.
Check the whole arrangement, not just the blooms
Look at the container, base, height, and width. Ask whether the arrangement has a separate easel or support and whether any part must be returned. A large standing tribute and a compact basket need different handling. Do not assume the frame will fold, or that it is safe to separate the flowers from their base.
Measure the available vehicle space before carrying flowers outside. Consider the door opening as well as the space inside. The arrangement must not block the driver’s view, pedals, controls, mirrors, or passengers’ restraints. If it cannot be secured without those problems, choose another vehicle or ask about transport help.
Ask for help with packing and lifting
Ask the florist or venue how to support the specific container. Lift from a sound base rather than pulling on flowers, ribbons, or decorative handles that may not carry the weight. If the arrangement is heavy or awkward, use appropriate help instead of risking a dropped container or an injury.
For a manageable arrangement, ask whether a fitted box or other support is suitable for keeping it upright. Protect the vehicle from moisture without crushing the flowers. Do not drain or dismantle the design without instructions; the arrangement may hold water in a way that is not obvious from the outside.
Go directly to the agreed destination
Plan the trip so flowers are not left in a parked vehicle while you run errands. When you arrive, place them on a suitable stable surface and follow the florist’s care instructions. Ask the recipient before leaving a large display in a small room. Taking flowers home should not create a care task they did not want.
If animals live there, check the complete flower and plant list before bringing the arrangement inside. The FDA warns that true lilies and daylilies, including pollen and vase water, are dangerous to cats. A service arrangement is not automatically safe for the home. If a cat may have been exposed, contact a veterinarian or pet poison service immediately.
Choose a different plan when needed
A florist may be able to discuss transport or a change to the display, but do not assume either service is included in the original purchase. Ask about availability and any cost before agreeing. Do not promise a hospital, care facility, or charity that flowers are coming until it has accepted the specific donation.
For future orders, consider the plan after the service as part of choosing a size. Serenity Basket distinguishes its home-or-small-gathering Signature option from larger service sizes. The best choice is not always the largest arrangement; it is one that fits the occasion and has a practical place to go afterward.
