Start with the person arranging the meal
A restaurant, community room, or private home may already have a table plan. Ask the organizer where flowers would be useful and whether the venue permits outside arrangements. Do not order one centerpiece per table until someone has confirmed how many tables there will be and how they will be used.
Dining tables need space for place settings and conversation. A buffet needs room for food and serving equipment. A memory table has a different purpose again. Share the actual layout with the florist instead of asking for a general “funeral arrangement” and hoping it fits every setting.
Choose a format for the available space
We suggest asking for the finished height and width, including the container, before choosing flowers for a dining table. Consider whether guests will see the design from every side. Avoid blocking sight lines or crowding the place settings; ask the venue to approve the final placement.
Serenity Basket has a Signature size described for a home or smaller gathering, but that does not mean it fits a particular table. A larger Service Floor Basket may belong in a separate approved display area. That product is local and advance-order only in Bloom Lane’s catalog, not a nationwide or same-day reception solution.
Treat reused flowers as a separate plan
If flowers will travel from the service to the reception, ask the family which arrangements can move and when they can leave. Some may need to stay for another gathering. Keep cards with the flowers so the family can identify the senders later.
Choose someone to handle transport and confirm that the flowers fit safely in the vehicle. Ask about any easel, support, or container that needs special handling or return. Do not assume the driver delivering the original order will wait through the service, collect the flowers, and take them to the next venue.
Give the florist the reception details
Use the reception venue’s confirmed address, not the funeral-home address left selected from an earlier page. Include the event name, room if needed, receiving contact, and agreed arrival window. Explain whether you are ordering a separate reception gift or discussing movement of an existing arrangement.
Ask who will put the flowers in place and what setup is included. A delivery is not automatically a styling service. If you need several coordinated arrangements, discuss the quantity and complete cost before ordering; a single product photograph is not a package for an entire room.
Decide where the flowers go afterward
Ask the organizer whether guests may take flowers home or whether someone else will collect them. Confirm the venue’s cleanup time and keep any returnable equipment separate. Do not leave the host to solve transport for a large display at the end of the day.
Follow the family’s preferences for color and style without assuming that a luncheon needs elaborate decoration. Sometimes one agreed arrangement is enough. Bloom Lane is an independent florist, not the reception venue or funeral home; check the destination ZIP and date for available designs before paying.
